My name is C.C. I am 39 years old, 5'11" and 12 weeks ago I weighed 195 lbs. I have been weightlifting for over 15 years, but found myself in a rut. Not terribly out of shape (about 20% body fat), but far from my peak in my late 20's. That is, until I happened across Javorek Complex Conditioning book. Now, I weigh 168 lbs. and under 10% body fat. While there was some dieting involved, Steve's workout was the primary reason for this transformation. In the past I have tried to step up the intensity of my workouts, but it always ended up with injury. Steve's combination of body part, loading, and repetitions has allowed me to achieve outstanding results without injury or even extreme soreness and fatigue. Not to mention, I have gained significant strength in nearly all areas. I am a follower of his now and wanted to thank you for the book and articles.

I received the package already!  The tape is very informative (as expected), but the book is really an encyclopedia of knowledge!  I'm an avid reader but this is going to take some time to absorb.  Awesome!

I still read and re-read your book. I wish I could say I practice the complexes more often. Once the basic idea is grasped, I think the complexes can be adjusted to achieve most any fitness goal. I also do your dumbbell wrist routines with a light weight. Actually, I just taught my step daughter who is visiting from medical school (she has 2 yrs to go for an M.D.) She found the wrist routine very helpful. Mike Ciosec

Mr. Javorek, I am a rugby player, and finally found a six week block to try your Big Fun workout you published in your book and M&F magazine.  WOW!!  If you told me six weeks ago that I would rack 225lbs and Jump Squat it for 6 reps I would have slapped you. My 40yd time went from 5.1 to 4.8.  I increase my 1rm for squat 405 to 425 and flat bench 275 to 315!!  At first, I performed jump squats with only 95lbs, but as I learned the exercise, I was able to push much higher. Mr. Javorek. I received your book two days ago and I read it. Book is excellent! I have personal library of more than 100 strength training books from all greats of 19-th and 20-th Century such as Verkhoshansky, Zatsiorsky, Saxon, Sandow, Pashall and many others. But your book is practical upgrade of all the others. This was kind of information I was looking for. I never thought that dumbbells could be so much useful in sports conditioning. I was wrong. It is interesting that I was using almost the same exercises in my programs but mostly with barbells. Coach Javorek, as for the circuit program: Those exercises are awesome! They are very efficient and simple to do. Initially I had thought your 1st. program would be easy; however, I was sweating at the end. I had never tried weight circuit training before.

Also, what I was taught before about weight training is no longer used.

Now, I just need a better/newer selection of DB weights, at home, for these exercises.

If I had wanted to a PE instructor/Fitness trainer/Human Performance expert, I would want to learn from you. You got the science down for what you do. Too, bad you don't have E-Learning (Internet) for your classes to get students trained or certified for this.

I will delve in the concept of complex training of yours. The idea of using compound exercises and hitting the CNS with different kinetic patterns (avoidance of pattern overload stagnation) is indeed very good.  Tassos Zikas, Sports Science & Nutrition Research   Greece

Mr. Javorek, my name is 1LT James Hester I am currently deployed in Iraq with the Army.  I am an avid weight lifter and love to exercise.  I recently came across an article with an old workout program of yours in M&F December 05 issue.  I enjoyed the workout and have become sold on the concept of a full body workout and not specialization routines.  I was wondering if you had any new workouts or suggestions on how to gain mass and size. My name is Kane Mavrodaris and I think you're an excellent conditioning coach. I have completed the Power Thrash Program twice and have seen great results. My power to weight ratio has increased, in all major movements. I'm busy training with my younger brother at the moment using your Barbell program for off season strength and conditioning.  Hi Steve, I can instantly see the value to your approach, and am a big fan of what you've achieved and have done for the many athletes you've trained. It would be a huge honor for me to continue my learning and implementation of my own program having established some form of connection with the way you do things. I have read parts of your "complex conditioning book" and want to purchase it. In Australia your kind of conditioning isn't widely accessible as part of our cultural standard of conditioning the body goes, and am therefore extremely keen to learn more myself and ideally feel a level of support from what you are doing, as who knows where that may lead... This has been partly fueled by my own experience in the gym and the desire to correct our approach here in Australia, or at least in my sport. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated. Mr. Javorek, Thank you for your response.  I understand now about your program.  I have been doing the "Big Fun" Program that comes out of your book, so I assume that is correct.  Once I am finished with that I will test for the new program and send you back the test sheet.
I also want to add that I have really become fascinated with the system you have developed.  I see my body changing everyday and many people who see me train ask how I do it.  I really enjoy the varied total body movements.  I am also a personal trainer and I am starting a few clients on the general fitness program and many have spoken positively about it.

dwaynewagner Coach Javorek trained my son 8 years ago to help him recover from patella tendonitis. Doctors and Physical Therapists had already failed. After 6 months, the tendon was stronger and the pain was gone. My son's team won the basketball state championship 4 months later and he received a D1 scholarship. He has since graduated and plays ball overseas. This man is a genius.

HMAwill  Let me tell you something about this guy. He is the nicest, humblest, coach I have talked to. As a young strength coach it's hard to find anyone who will give you information let alone the time of day. This guy has trained Olympians and is a Hall of Famer.Yet he gave me fantastic advice and was great.

battlefish42 This is my coach and he is way ahead of his time! I have learned so much from him and will take as many weight lifting classes from him that Iam able to!

Igor4eva  Javorek is the best! I took his class at JCCC and helped me win two Brazilian jiu-jitsu tournaments as well as my first mixed martial arts bout. If you remember me Mr. Javorek it is Mike Wisler, much thanks goesout to you!
